Environmental Harm after 'Storm 2'

Inadequate stormwater retention capacity on the Carruthers Contracting - Noosa Council 64 Lake Macdonald Drive site again caused polluted stormwater to break out on Saturday 15 November 2025. Construction site pollutants and debris flowed into the local creek system and blocked local roads again.

Unsafe pollution cleanups

Due to extreme slipperiness the footpaths were left impassable and unsafe after this environmental incident for 2 nights and all of Sunday.

On the morning of Monday November 17, 2025 four school children were engulfed by dust (of unknown composition) generated by a street sweeping bobcat during site runoff cleanup activities.

Outside the Carruther's site entrance during the storm on 15 November 2025. Approx 64mm in under an hour. Again, not an everyday event but not an unusual storm for us. Another 30mm fell overnight after this.

Outside the Carruther's site entrance showing the aftermath the next day. Note: It is known Carruthers had reshaped the stormwater sausage in the gutter. This was presumably to minimise intersection flooding by diverting (anticipated) runoff directly to the creek.
